30th annual Car Cruise and Food Drive to benefit Spooner House

Heav’nly Donuts will host the very popular Dust-Off Car Cruise on Sunday April 10, from noon to 5 p.m., to collect canned goods and non-perishable food items to benefit the Spooner House in Shelton.

It’s a sunny, windy morning in hilly Naugatuck, and state Senator Joe Crisco, Jr. (D-Woodbridge) is popping in and out of a white panel truck, climbing the front steps and walking into the homes of needy people, carrying cardboard trays of sandwiches, cookies, fruit and milk wrapped in plastic wrap.

Priest from Weston accused of stealing from Seymour parish

A local Roman Catholic Priest was arrested by Seymour Police detectives on Monday Feb. 29, for embezzling money from St. Augustine Church located at 135 Washington Avenue in Seymour.
