A Minerva Street apartment building suffered damage Sunday after high winds tore off pieces of drain pipe and gutters and strips of roofing tar.
Assistant Fire Chief Kurt Kammesies Jr. said the building, which contains about 15 apartments, suffered damage in another wind storm last year. Repair crews had been working on the building but the recent cold and snowy weather had slowed progress.
Firefighters inspected the roof from the bucket of one of the trucks, and a building inspector had declared the structure sound. Fire crews removed and secured debris to make the area safe. Kemmesies said a roofing contractor would make temporary repairs.
